Step-by-step
How to request account deletion
You can delete your account and all your data directly from the FemJourn app. Deletion is free and immediate — follow these five steps.
Tap the menu button
Open FemJourn. Tap the ☰ icon in the top-right corner — it floats above every screen once you are signed in.
Open Profile & settings
In the menu drawer, tap "Profile & settings" (the second row, below "Home").
Tap "Delete my account"
Scroll to the bottom of the Profile & settings screen. Tap "Delete my account", shown in red.
Confirm by typing DELETE
On the "Delete your account" screen, type DELETE (capital letters) in the box, then tap the red "Delete my account" button. Tapping "Cancel" instead leaves your account untouched.
Account deleted
An "Account deleted" confirmation appears. You are signed out immediately. Tap "Done" to return to the sign-in screen. Deletion is permanent — we cannot restore a deleted account.
Your data
What is deleted and what is kept
When you delete your account, all personal and health information is permanently erased. A small set of records is kept only as long as the law requires, held in isolation, and never used to contact you or operate the app.
Permanently deleted
- Your account and all account details
- All check-in answers and results
- Your health summary
- Period and cycle logs
- Reminder settings
- Consultation requests
- App analytics linked to you
Legally retained
- Consent records — 3 years
- Pseudonymised security logs — 1 year
- Payment records (if subscribed) — 8 years
| What is kept | Kept for | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Consent records | 3 years from date of deletion | We must be able to demonstrate what you consented to and when |
| Security / access logs | At least 1 year | Required by law |
| Payment records | 8 years | Required by tax and company law (applies only if you had a paid subscription) |
Aggregated, anonymised statistics — for example, what proportion of users recorded a particular symptom — are not personal data and are not affected by account deletion.
